Hi Transformers,
Two weeks ago, Oracle shocked Wall Street with a $455B surge in contracted cloud revenue. That leap was powered by mega-deals with OpenAI, Meta, and others betting big on Oracle’s infrastructure.
Last week, EY’s CEO Outlook Survey confirmed that enterprise leaders are re-wiring strategy around localization and regionalization.
And now? The story gets even bigger.
📊 Meta just inked a $14.2B deal with CoreWeave to secure AI cloud infrastructure through 2031.
📊 Citigroup forecasts big tech will spend $2.8 trillion on AI infrastructure by 2029.
This isn’t just spending. It’s an arms race. Whoever owns the AI backbone will control the future of enterprise transformation.

Why This Matters for Startup CEOs and CROs
The AI hype cycle gets the headlines. But behind the scenes, infrastructure is the choke point.
Every enterprise CEO knows they need AI to compete. But the bottleneck isn’t algorithms or features — it’s compute, data pipelines, compliance, and orchestration.
That reality changes the balance of buying power inside the enterprise:
CIOs and CTOs are gaining budget authority because infrastructure choices now shape strategy.
Boards are approving multi-year, multi-billion dollar commitments — not SaaS subscriptions.
Vendors who can de-risk, modularize, and accelerate AI infrastructure adoption will win the transformational deals.
If you’re a startup, this is both a challenge and an opening. You won’t outsell CoreWeave, Oracle, or Microsoft. But you can position yourself as the bridge, the orchestrator, the enabler that makes enterprise AI rollouts actually work.
Three Mega-Deal Opportunities in the AI Infrastructure Era
1. Sell the Orchestration Layer
Enterprises don’t want 10 disconnected AI pilots. They want AI factories, modular systems where compute, data, and models plug together.
If your solution stitches these layers, you can own the orchestration, and the long-term deal.
2.Become the Compliance and Risk Partner
As California’s new AI safety law shows, regulation is coming fast. Enterprises will pay heavily for infrastructure that is compliant, auditable, and resilient.
If you can de-risk adoption, you move from “nice to have” to “board-mandated.”
3. Align With CEO-Level Transformation Goals
The enterprise AI conversation isn’t about features. It’s about market leadership. CEOs are signing off on decade-long contracts because they see infrastructure as destiny.
When you sell outcomes like resilience, market agility, or customer trust, you’re playing at the right level.
📖 In Lead With Transformation, I call this moving from “Land & Expand” to “Land & Transform” (Chapter 3). Infrastructure shifts are the perfect proving ground for transformational selling.
Tactical Steps You Can Take This Week
Audit your narrative. Does your pitch talk about features or about infrastructure outcomes like speed, risk reduction, and resilience? Rewrite your narrative to lead with the latter.
Map the buyer shift. Who inside your target accounts controls AI infrastructure decisions? (Hint: it may no longer be the functional VP. It’s the CIO/CTO, sometimes the CEO.) Build your entry points accordingly.
Position for orchestration. Look at your product or service and ask: how do we make AI infrastructure adoption smoother, faster, or safer? That’s the wedge for enterprise deals.
⚡ Your Action Step This Week
The AI infrastructure arms race isn’t slowing down. It’s accelerating.
Meta’s $14B bet is just the latest chapter in a story that will define the decade: $2.8 trillion in AI infrastructure spend is coming.
The message is clear:
Don’t fight the hyperscalers head-on.
Position yourself as the orchestrator, the compliance partner, the transformation enabler.
Sell outcomes at the CEO/board level, not features to managers.
That’s how you move from chasing pilots… to winning mega-deals.
📖 My upcoming book Lead With Transformation (Fast Company Press, Oct 2025) goes deep on how to turn seismic shifts like this into transformational selling opportunities. This week’s story is a perfect example.
